Writing and posting and tweeting and protesting the dangerous and disgraceful actions of Donald Trump and those supporting and surrounding him is important to raise awareness of the danger we all face, but we have to also take additional and even more effective action.

Using social media to communicate the alarming and dangerous truths about Trump and his surrogates is important and it’s easy. Picking up your phone and calling your Senators and Representatives in the U.S. Congress is scary if you’ve never done it, but it is much more effective. And after you’ve done it once, you’ll be comfortable doing it again and again, which is very important.

The 65 is a wonderful site that makes it as easy as possible to take effective action against Trump by calling your Senators and Representatives. It will show you who they are, provide their phone numbers and a sample script for any issue, which you can use as a template. The site features a Weekly Call to Action. This week it’s to stop Betsy DeVos’s confirmation to head the Department of Education.

Keep in mind, that when you call, you will almost always get voice mail, so all you have to do is leave a message. It really is not scary once you’ve done it! So keep on posting, tweeting and protesting, but if you’re really serious about the many outrageous and dangerous actions coming from Trump, it’s time to pick up your phone!
